A solid piece created with strips of turquoise and clear Bullseye glass cut to 1/4 inch wide and then laid snugly on their edges before firing between fire bricks to keep depth in the piece.   The first rule of working with glass is that when fired it will pull in or spread out in order to get to a 6mm.  I wanted to maintain the 1/4inch depth and weight of this dish.  When you rotate the piece you can see each individual stripe.  
 
 
At each end of the piece I have deliberately left the ridges of each strip of glass to create interest and texture.
