This stripy 20cm square dish was created by cutting strips of glass and laying them on their edge between kiln dams.  The outer edge I completed with white opal glass and clear dots on each corner.
 
The kiln dams keep the piece in shape and stops the strips of glass falling to either side as they're fully fused in the kiln.
 
This strip method ensures the bottom of the dish is an exact mirror of the top side.
