Hundreds of pieces of glass were cut to create this dish.  Firstly strips of glass are scored and broken of equal width.  The strips are then cut into different length pieces and laid on their sides to create the pattern.  I used an opal orange and a transparent orange with accents and edges created with black opal glass.  
 
I love how the pieces of glass create a complex pattern but equally how the transparent orange glass allow the light to come through and when the dish is in the sunlight leave the shadow of lines on the table below.
